You Love Back Sabbath? AND The Smiths too? Well, here’s THE BLACK SMITHS!
“Birmingchester, a small industrial town in the north of England, was the backdrop for the birth of Black Smiths. The lads met while attending an all boys school for wayward youth and discovered early on their shared interest in American blues music and the works of Oscar Wilde.
They would often escape the dreariness of Birmingchester by retreating to the sprawling meadows of assorted flowers that surrounded the gloomy burb. It is there that they composed their first song, a simple 12 bar blues progression called “Please Kill Me, I Hate My Life And I Want To Die”. The song was written on an acoustic guitar Johnny Iommarr bullied from the son of the Headmaster of the school, a stunt that got him expelled from his fifth school in as many years.
Deciding school was not their cup of tea, the boys devoted their lives to Rock and Roll. Unfortunately the working class denizens of Birmingchester were not ready for their particularly gloomy style of music, and the band decided to try their luck in the land of opportunity, America. Their hope was to move to the entertainment Mecca of New York City, but an unfortunate incident at Customs altered their plans.
