    well, I do agree that most of the time all of the above is quite redundant when you are really facing a bunch of irritable, proud cops. There’s a friend of mine who was trying to follow the guidelines and ended up being slapped on the face by one of them, which immediately rendered his attempted resistance futile, but… don’t let it discourage us. We have our rights and they have limits upon their power. They need to know where those limitations are and WE need to show them that we know our rights and that they should respect it.

    One thing for sure though, always have a lawyer’s phone number with you. From what I’ve seen so far, that has been the biggest deterrent from being victimised. The cops don’t like lawyers. Call a lawyer immediately after being held, and you’ll have a huge chance of being let off scot free. Bring a lawyer to your remand hearing and most of the time your case will be immediately dropped. Too much hassle for the cops to bear.

    Whatever it is, do read the post again and memorise it. Ignore all that with peril…
