hello there.
this is a zine, an archive, a blog, an event calendar, a place where rock’n’roll, especially of the fringe + underground, independent, DIY and related, came to be highlighted, promoted and documented.
running as a scene-blog since 2004, this website was operating as The Ricecooker Shop‘s portal from early 2007. TRS was a physical, brick’n’mortar music store first based at the Annexe, Central Market for more than three years, before moving on to two different locations in the city.
three years after the shop closed down in 2014, it morphed into a library/museum or an archive. we call this The Ricecooker Archives – Southeast Asian Rock’n’Roll Treasury (quite grand, we know).
The Ricecooker Archives have our own space at 84B, The Zhongshan Building, Jalan Rotan, Kampung Attap, Kuala Lumpur. here we collect, collate, clean-up, digitize, database and archive rock’n’roll artifacts from around the region. our aim is to preserve and to share it with the world.
note: the setting up our physical archives is still on-going, so those who wanna come meet and visit, do get in touch with us first. terima kasih.

Ye x ye…JBH tu apa?Anyone plz..
can invite them for the corporate dinner show..????
bole la WATAI apa salahnya kalau awak belanja kan awak kaya raya hehee…
hehhe lek la…EINSECONDS (susah tul la nak sebut nama awak ni…teringat lak aku kat 76second)… harap-harap doa einsecond tu termakbul laaa…kalau lah aku kaya raya aku belanjer einsecond..perghhhhh
Apparently peoples, this would be the last gig held at Taat Hse (at least for now) due to the super-shocking-cekik-darah-increased of the rental price for the venue. I heard from one of the organisers that starting from June, the rental price for one night about RM 5000+ (kalau dulu RM 4000, and duit pendahuluan cuma letak RM 400) and no duit pendahuluan. Semua nya cash on time.
So okay, back to square one. KL has lost Annexe. JB has lost Taat Hse. Lepas ni mana pulak yang kena?
But anyway, let’s see at the bands featured for this gig. There’s Plague of Happiness & Full Pledge Munkees. Theres also Inflict ( Kota Tinggi oldschool hxc used to RIP before tapi they’re back! ) , Skatanix and Young and Dangerous etcetera etcetera.
But let us just crossing our fingers hoping that there’ll be no fight at all during this gig due to i dunno, “perbalahan ideologi” or “percanggahan selera muzik” ? 😐
buat gig kat penang sudah. 🙂
