I have a bunch of Azmi tapes (along with other Malay Pop documents) collecting dust in a room
in Klang. Wasn’t aware that he had a connection with the town either. I’d assume he lived
there before shuffling off this mortal coil.

Btw, since you mentioned Klasik FM, which unfortunately I’ve not heard; if there’s one thing
I miss about Malaysian radiowaves or broadcasting as a whole, it’d have to be 96.3 FM (frequency
may vary depending on your location) — best known as the “Indian” channel.
The best period of the day to tune in is unquestionably the graveyard shift:
any time from 12am to around 5-6 am. A veritable ear-fest to say the absolute least.
Anything from extended improvised ragas, Carnatic music, religious ritual music, Sufi music,
to old Bollywood tunes (on scratchy vinyl and in mono or 1 to 2 track recordings) are standard
    fare during those hours.

aku memang minat musik melayu klasik…memang stesen radio yg berbaloi utk didengar adalah 93.9 klasik nasiona selain radio johor… aku mmg dah lama save frekuensi radio nie sbb radio nie saja yg memutarkan lagu2 yg real klasik. Kadang kedengaran sound raw vinyl zaman 40’s-50’s… tapi, sesi yg paling best utk dgr klasik nasional nie pada aku waktu malam pukul 9 – 12 malam…dgr keroncong sampai stone…
