THE WRONGMEN
The Wrongmen 7″
(Actionman Records)
“Straight from the desolate hardcore wasteland of Auckland City, Action Man Records brings you The Wrongmen. ‚Ä®‚Ä®Capturing all of the desperate energy that thrives in a working week and the currently subversive political climate comes a band that is going to tear down hardcore conventions and give New Zealand a much-needed breath of fresh air.‚Ä®‚Ä®Featuring ex-members of The Warpath, The Redshift, and the legendary Evil Priest; this band needs little introduction. Fusing the raw energy and anger of Black Flag with the frantic inspiration of bands like Converge and Cursedalong with touches of the epic Earth and Old Man Gloom; The Wrongmen is a departure for its members from the sound of past efforts. This is hostile, this is intense, and most of all this is punk rock; something that‚Äôs been long missing in hardcore.”
note: includes a bitchin’ harsh and abrasive cover of The Stooges’ 1970 on the flipside!

Cheapkicks 7″
(sjn)

PATHETIC HUMAN
Pathetic Human 7″
(She’ll Be Right)
Crazy power-violence from Melbourne.
“What came out of the stereo was equal parts experimental noise and spastic hardcore. And it sounded monstrous even on tape. This is pretty much an album by “hardcore” standards and to my mind most of the great garage or punk records were always 7 inches anyway. Short and sweet is always better than long and repetitive. There are lots of tempo and style changes and the songs are all over the shop sort of like Kyklooppien Sukupuutto (I think I’ve managed to spell that right for once!). This will appeal to freaks who listen to the more fucked up sounds of Extortion, Sex/Vid or Spazz.” – pencilhead
