Mable Distro: Strung Up – Society Rot in Hell tape – Out Now!
Society Rot in Hell cassette
Pissed off ’80s era hardcore punk hailed from Bay Area, California. Angry relentless full on traditional hardcore punk with sick guitar wanks and gnarly vocals, similar to SOA, Void or Verbal Abuse. Bonus tracks include debut s/t 7″ (2002) and a few previously unreleased songs as well.
RM7 ppd / USD4 (Asia) / USD5 (World)
“Perfect 1980’s hardcore punk! I like VOID, but without all the slop (which I realize is the charm w/ Void, but I’m trying to say that STRUNG UP capture that fierceness, and still play tight and in tune)
Lurching intros into breakneck full speed attacks driven by buzzsaw guitars that aren’t afraid to wank every now and then. Picture SOA in 1981. Pretty good huh? Now give all of them a fat line of quality bay area meth and you get Strung Up.
Raspy shouted vocals that sound more like getting yelled at by a wasted vagrant than listening to songs about priest sex abuse, suicide, news media and dead cops. Extra “fuck you” in the mix….man, this makes me wanna get really drunk.”– Slug and Lettuce[audio:http://www.tankcrimes.com/site/mp3/StrungUp-Heard_It_Was_So.mp3]
Heard It Was So by Strung Up
‚Ä®“This one is killer! Strung Up, from the Oakland/San Francisco area, play fast and pissed punk fucking rock. A great example of the current Bay Area sound, this one is among the ranks of Born/Dead, Desolation, and other phenomenal bands in the area.
The music is short and to the point, the lyrics are angry and smart, and the mix of the album sounds great. The drums are super punchy in that old school ’80s punk way, and the guitars and bass have really nice amp sounds and resonance to them and generally mingle with the drums in a way that’s heavy but not a brick wall of sound.
Overall a great release and I look forward to hearing more!” – Heartattack 47.
