Leaving Normal: MGG Pillai
from: malaysia-today.net:
Mr MGG Pillai died in the University Hospital at 10.45am on Friday, 28 April 2006. He was admitted into hospital earlier this week after suffering chest pains
ricecooker note: When I first got into the enthralling, open-ended universe of the internet back in the mid-90s, there were not many local sites or discussion groups which was as thought-provoking and important as MGG Pillai’s Sangkancil. In a way it was a revolutionary group where the nation’s socio-political grounds freely discussed, argued and criticised. I was lurking in that, too scared to air my own opinions but reaped a lot of lessons as much as unlearning my own entrenched misconceptions.
MGG Pillai never stopped doing what he wanted to do. Like everyone else, he’s not without faults, but the man pushed boundaries and aimed for a better world. Much respect from all of us. Deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I have not read of him before, but today I will.
And is that not the beauty of it all? That even after death, the thoughts and actions of this man live on, etched in history, forever reminding us of his love and his life.
Condolences.
