“Sila download zine rakan kita dari Indonesia ini, dan baca. Sementara tu sila pikirkan what‚Äôs up with our local zine scene‚Ķ Apa sudah jadi beb?”.

Ini soalan klasik. Sendiri soal + Sendiri jawab = Sendiri buat. Habis cerita.

    Maaf, formula yang diberi salah dari segi penaakulannya. Begini sebenarnya;

Sendiri soal + Sendiri jawab + Sendiri buat = Barulah habis ceritanya.

    Okey?

Kids are no longer read zines. They tend to buy those magazines (ROTTW) which is pathetically, annoying. I remember the time when I was in my high school, and have those postman putting that envelope on my mail box. CUt and paste old zine. That was too fucking romantic for me!

  5. shahrizal says:

tu la psl.. kt sekolah, pakcik kerani mmg dh kenal sgt. dia la yg tlg selamatkan surat2 aku (average 10 per week) dari sangkut dgn warden. gi opis, amik surat, gile excited time nk bukak. bukak elok2… stamp kasi re-cycle (taruk gam kanji 20cent atas stamp), suka gile tgk flyer byk2, biasa tulis surat pun belakang flyer. dpt zine suka, mlm2 sebelum tido dok baca zine. time tu klu dpt order cd sgt best gile babeng. biasanya kaset. kaset2 c60 atau c90 yg berupa demo @ rehearsal. tp sudah cukup memuaskan hati. paling2, collect duit cecukup, order heartattack, mrr, punk planet start dari even back dated issue. sungguh2 baca column, dgn rebiu. most of the band asalnya tau nama dan style of music dari rebiu. tp tu pun dh cukup memuaskan hati. only in the beginning of y2k internet access bertambah bagus, makin byk lagu dpt di download, band2 yg selama ini hanya tau nama, sudah byk yg dpt di mp3 kan (tq shah!). fuh… appreciation terhadap music and especially the ideas tu mmg semakin lain… ini lah kes video kill the radio star…

  8. cik teka teki ada buat zine skang..try la kontek die.ekekeke..zine KAMI..ekekekeke

  9. Penn G Samsa says:

Hahahaha. Ingat lagi pasal recycle stamp? Klasik! too punk rock. Sekarang dah tak ada dah. Tulis belakang flyers? Too Rock N Roll! Kids are too lazy nowadays, I guess. Atau Kids are too dependent on the internet. Hehehehe.

Mungkin MP3 lagi mudah. Internet lagi cepat. Tapi, kalau guna internet, macam tak ada sentimental value la pulak. Sebab just in minutes, everything dah depan mata. Sedangkan back few years ago, nak dapat satu zine pun makan berminggu. So, masa kita nak tunggu package tu sampai, kita macam rasa excited gila. Wondering, macamana benda tu akan jadi. Hehehehe.

Hahaha. memang susah. Tapi, romantik. Struggle. Sebab kalau kita bersusah payah nak dapatkan something tu, kita akan appreciate benda tu lebih.

yah! nostalgic and its not some kind of pseudo romantic statement bro/sis!

though i didn’t really watch KAMI (yet can’t deny those girls are soo cute and lovely!), i, for one, believe their (the producer/director/script writer) intention was sound; to promote the culture of youth empowerment but when i was at the KAMI screening some time ago at The Annexe, i didn’t feel the excitement over the zine culture at all (which the drama was based on, those kids getting to know each other thru the same interest blablabla). None were keen to check out about zines, etc. It sadden me, but I won’t (I can’t) complain since I myself don’t do much. Of late, i haven’t find any really good (local especially) zines but i do read some really good writings on the net (blog, etc). Perhaps that also being a reason why people don’t bother to write on paper anymore…

    * plus it support save our trees campaign what with less use of paper ;P

    yeah…
memang seronok baca zine kertas dari baca zine kat website or blog (minus ricecooker blog).
tapi apsal laa skrg ni dah kurang zine2 kertas…
byk sgt zine dah bertukar rupa jadi blogspot.

tapi memandang kan skrg dah susah nak cari zine2 dari zaman purba, aku saran kan korang check web ni:
    http://punksishippies.blogspot.com/

korang ada can nak baca profane existence isu 1, 2, 3 dan 4.

  14. rizie says:

latest budak yang buat zine, budak terengganu name aniq.masked reader zine isu ke-2,dlm pembikinan lg…pastu timmy br rilis zine die isu yang plg baru..dgr cite zine roots pun nak kuar nanti…ape lg ek..sape lg yang buat zine ni.. 😀

    yeahh..zine tidak mati…yeah..hehehe…

  15. Penn G Samsa says:

Heheheh

Jadi, seseorang kena mulakan semula tren ni. I mean, trend buat zine kertas semula.

  21. Zach))) says:

Yes, I’d like to advertise mine too.

Rip Off Bastards Paper Distro welcome all zine editors to send the master copy of their zine, we’ll pay them RM10 (depends on how many pages + how much the prize per copy) for that and then we’ll photocopy it as much as we want! We’ll try to sell it as cheaper as we could, but on being a rip off bastard we’ll sell it much higher than the original price. The excuses? Keep in mind that we’ll always blame it on economy crisis, globalisation plus the oh-so-much-effort that we’ve put in order to keep the scene alive and kicking.

Last but not least: DIY or Fuckin’ Die!
