Friday, 16th February 2007: The Ricecooker Shop & Bau-Bau Cafe’s Opening Party!
Please pass the news around and do come!
Unless you’ve been living in a cave or a hole for the last 5 or so years; surely, Meor requires absolutely none whatsoever introduction.
Launch of new album: Yang Terlintas Di Fikiran.
An article on the new album published by The Star: here
THAM KAR MUN & YEOH YIN PIN
Old punk fiends. Just like Peter and Caspar Br??tzmann, only unrelated and (errm) not German. But got white beard (last we checked Ah Tham’s chin area) and of course the customary gile dahsyat sax+gitar+soul action.
METEOR FEATHER (Singapore)
Outsider free-improv/avant-rocking folkies from the island city down below. Not unlike No-Neck Blues Band in sonic alchemy, zeal and defiance. Here’s your chance to exorcise, vent and project ALL of Malaysia’s long-standing inferiority complex or accusation of cross-border arrogance towards the Island Nation that left us August 9, 1965 and had
the audacity to steal the international port-of-call thunder from Pelabuhan Kelang. Bastards! Bring eggs or flowers.
YANDSEN & ROBERT GOMEZ
Globally well-travelled troubadour meets equally well-travelled (at least within local borders) Chinese medicinal wares peddler/transport merchant from Cheras. As to what this encounter might eventuate, we have the remotest clue. Maybe Gomez will bring out the trusty sitar or a bass guitar (with the likeliest chance of overkilling the bass bombast with efx+pedals Farez Maharajah Com stylee). Any which way Gomez goes, expect Yandsen to pummel BRUTALLY by way of some hot skronk ‘n’ skree action with his reeds of choice.

In solitude, a camera-eye (2006)
The nocturnal eye of the camera looks out over a quiet street in the suburban America. It is also a night in Malaysia with quiet fireworks. A camera poem.
(The latter video was an entry for the short film category at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, 2007)
