Balik Kampung!

I know some of you are already “gone home” somewhere, hanging out with your families and old friends left behind for the whole year, or maybe not (like some friends of mine who are cursed to celebrate Hari Raya in Gombak!)

I am heading back to Kg. Pasir Putih, Merchang, Terengganu this afternoon, hopefully it will be a thoroughly enjoyable leisurely six-hour-plus drive. Will have to look for a dozen or so cassettes to play in the car as the stereo only plays tapes!

Already found the first X-Ray Spex and The Toy Dolls albums, now looking for my old and dusty Motorpsycho (Demon Box), Black Uhuru (Red & Sinsemilla), AC/DC (all the Bon Scott ones), The Undertones, The Specials, Samiam, Jawbreaker, Bad Brains and also the essential travel tapes of yore: Both Bob Mould’s first solo albums and The Red House Painters. I think that would complete the list and we’ll be rockin’ all the way!

Alright then, I need to go pack.
